Pedagogical Designs for Optimizing E-Learning

Dr. D. Sivakumar and Dr. B. Minnel Kodi
ABSTRACT
E-learning is commonly referred to as the intentional use of networked information and communications technology in teaching and learning. Several terms are also used to describe this mode of education, including online learning, virtual learning, distributed learning, network-based learning, and web-based learning. Fundamentally, all these terms refer to educational processes that utilize information and communications technology to mediate asynchronous as well as synchronous learning and teaching activities. However, upon closer examination, it becomes clear that these labels represent slightly different educational processes and therefore cannot be used synonymously with the term e-learning.
