Teacher Educators' Perception about Student-teachers' Feedback

Devakarunyam, D. N., & Mary, J. C.
ABSTRACT
Quality of any educational programme depends on the quality of teachers. Teachers can be effectively trained during pre-service teacher education only if teacher educators themselves are effective practitioners. Feedback from student teachers regarding strengths and weaknesses can help teacher educators improve their professional competence. The present study measures teacher educators' perception toward student-teachers' feedback using a tool developed and validated by the researchers. Data were collected from 100 teacher educators in Chennai city. Findings indicate that teacher educators differ significantly in their perception of student feedback based on Gender and Type of Management, but not based on Age, Teaching Experience, or Educational Qualification. Managerial implications and areas for improvement are discussed.
