ABSTRACT
Education refers to the process by which society deliberately transmits its cultural heritage, values, knowledge, and skills from one generation to another. Today, the major challenge in teaching–learning is the large classroom size and diverse learning needs. When the system relies entirely on traditional instruction, learning objectives become difficult to attain. Educational technology integrates machines, media, materials, methods, and human support to fulfil learning objectives. Audio-visual and computer-based technologies have transformed classrooms, making students more self-directed learners. Children are increasingly influenced by the virtual world of computers, motivating them to learn independently, sometimes even unconsciously imitating digital patterns without critical thinking. The study investigates the effectiveness of a Computer Assisted Instructional Package (CAIP) as a self-learning tool for VIII standard students in learning English grammar.
