A Study on the Aptitude of Teachers and Disabled Graduates towards Usage of Technology in Teaching-Learning

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to examine the aptitude of teachers and disabled graduates towards usage of
technology
in teaching-learning process. The investigation elicited the attitude of teachers and disabled students with
regard
to usage of Technology in education. Therefore, the survey method is the suitable method which is used for
the present
study. Qualitative analysis was made on the data collected through the scale ‘Attitude towards Usage of
Technology for
Disabled Student Scale’. Mean, Standard deviation and Student ‘t’ were applied for interpreting the results
of the scores.
Teachers revealed that the loco-motor disabled persons are using technology as that of non-disabled persons
whereas the
visually impaired persons are deprived of it. Also revealed that they will use technology in teaching to the
disabled if
they are provided with equipment and required training facilities. Most of the visually impaired graduates
said that they
have not accessed technology for their learning. They are not aware of what technology can be helpful to
them.
