Emotional Maturity of Higher Secondary School Students of Madurai District

ABSTRACT
The present study aims to find out the emotional maturity of higher secondary school students of Madurai district. Survey method was used and a sample of 200 randomly selected students participated in the study. A questionnaire was used as the instrument to assess emotional maturity. T-test and ANOVA were applied to test hypotheses and determine whether there were significant differences among groups based on demographic variables.

Results revealed that:
• Male and female students do not differ significantly in emotional maturity,
• Rural and urban students differ significantly in emotional maturity,
• Government and private school students do not differ significantly.

The study recommends that school curriculum should include programs to enhance emotional maturity.
