Self-Regulated Learning and Socio-Emotional Competence among IX Standard Students

Rubina, J.
ABSTRACT
The present study examines the relationship between self-regulated learning (SRL) and socio-emotional competence among IX standard students, with special reference to gender and school type. Self-regulated learning refers to students’ ability to plan, monitor, and evaluate their own learning processes, whereas socio-emotional competence involves skills related to emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships, and ethical decision-making. These competencies are vital for academic success and personal development during adolescence, a critical developmental stage. The study highlights the importance of nurturing both self-regulatory and socio-emotional skills to enhance students’ overall academic performance and well-being.
