Mutharasi, K., & Sheeba, K. A.
ABSTRACT
Indian economy is growing rapidly and it has significant effects on the global scenario. The rapid pace of development creates numerous career prospects in the field of commerce such as banking, insurance, marketing, logistics, international finance, artificial intelligence, data analysis, and stock markets. Despite these opportunities, many commerce graduates face employability challenges due to the gap between academic training and corporate expectations. In this context, higher education institutions play a vital role by providing academic support that integrates theoretical knowledge, practical exposure, and career-oriented competencies. This paper explores how academic support systems in higher education institutions contribute to shaping the career competency of commerce students and bridging the gap between education and employability.
